Alexander and the Terrible
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day -but it's a Good Day to meet Miguel Arteta
From film screening to meeting w/director Miguel Arteta, for BB it was a very good 2 days.
Story, como siempre, purely Babushka.

We've all had them, "bad days", but some people seem like magnets for them. Of course BB believes all days have good in them, just by the mere fact that we woke up and are breathing, but most people, especially children, don't have that view. To be sure, Alexander, an 11 yr old boy didn't have this view- at least not in the beginning. And that's the premise of the film, ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY .
To Alexander, the eve of his birthday is his worst day EVER while the rest of his familia are having their BEST day ever. Naturalmente this doesn't seem fair, so that night at medianoche en punto he wishes the rest of his family could understand what a terrible,horrible,no good, very bad day feels like. Y'all know the saying, "Be careful what you wish for." ? Well Alexander definitely learned it first hand as he watched total locura and mayhem hit the other members of his family. Aqui tienen a trailer on some of the films highlights.
Now y'all know BB lives extremes, but even Babushka would make an appointment for a despojo after a day like that! Quee?? Ok Si, JU SO FONII!!! Soy Cubana and at the end of the day I'd probably be dancing and singing "Todo el mundo, con la lengua afuera" which isn't too far from the actual finale of the film. But BB doesn't want to give too much away, so let's go from the film screening to the film making.
One of the things that struck me of #VeryBadDay was how totally believable most of the situations were. You could actually see some of the things happening to you. This of course takes a good script, good acting, and good directing. On this nota, enter Miguel Arteta.
BB was invited to interview the director of #VeryBadDay, Miguel Arteta and must admit es un encanto. The marvelous Mandarin Oriental was the setting, which was perfect in its Zen vibes for this man. He's so unassuming, likeable, buena gente, that if he would have fit into Babushka's Popa bag I would have taken him home. Imaginate, he doesn't have children of his own, but totally relates to family life from his childhood in Puerto Rico, and he says having stars like Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner who actually are parents made it very natural, and with true to parenting reactions to some of the films moments. Some anecdotes shared- the baby boy Trevor was actually played by twin girls Elise and Zoey Vargas and the "loving all things Australian" Alexander, was played by Australian actor Ed Oxenbould who had to acquire an American accent. Arteta shared how Ed quickly picked up the new accent, but on the day he got to say "G'day Mates" he relished using his true home speech. Miguel jokes about the adage" Never work with kids and animals" and how he did both in this film. Si, he did, and it worked out BUENISIMO!

HolaHolaHola My Beautifuls!!!
If you recall, a little while back BB wrote about the baby shower for Cristyls Corazon ,bueno, Grandbaby #5 has arrived!!! On October 1, 2014 Babushka's family was blessed once again with another child. Dr. J weighed 8 lbs 7 ozs and was 21 inches long. BELLO!!!
