In the Autumn of Life~En El Otoño de la Vida

Conexion article for October by BB.

Hola, Hola, Hola Beautifuls!

Babushka is 64. Some say she’s in the Autumn of life.

Sesenta y cuatro? Otoño? Babushka, no has pasado ya del otoño?

Life ~ JU SO FONII!!™

Because here's the thing about reaching this season of life:

BB is still growing, deeply grateful, and going strong.

Autumn has always been a season of change.

The leaves turn, some fall away, and somehow the tree remains —

different, but still standing.

And maybe that's what happens to us, too.

By this point in life, there have been losses. There are people BB would give anything to sit with one more time, un tiempito mas. There are memorias that can still bring a smile — or tears — without warning. There are lessons learned the easy way and, sí, plenty learned the hard way too.

There has been amor. There has been familia.
And now there are six grandchildren reminding Babushka
that life keeps moving forward even while she sometimes finds herself looking back.

Recently, BB came across these words in “REFLEXIONES,” by Benjamillions:

“Aprendí que el tiempo pasa más rápido de lo que creí.

Ayer soñaba con el futuro y hoy recuerdo lo que viví.”

“I learned that time passes faster than I ever imagined.

Yesterday I dreamed of the future; today I remember the life I’ve lived.”

That one stayed with Babushka.

Because the years really did go faster than she thought they would.

But BB is not finished dreaming.

Not even close.

There are still things to discover. People to meet. Places to go.

Cuentos to tell. Food to taste. Family to love.

And definitely more dancing to do.

Maybe that's the real beauty of el otoño de la vida.

You can appreciate everything that has already bloomed, mourn what has fallen away,

and still look toward mañana wondering what might grow next.

At 64, Babushka has enough vida behind her to appreciate where she's been —

and plenty of curiosity about where she's going.

So here's to autumn.

To memories.

To what remains.

And to whatever comes next.

Because as long as there's music playing...

Babushka plans to keep dancing.
