Proof I'm Cubana- even in pictures I'm talking with my hands. |
The film is "Fools' Gold" and its' theme is greed, family, and love. Pretty intense for a student film, but the filming was enjoyable. At least the crew and director were very nice- BB never did get to be part of the actual filming though. Yeap. They looked at this crazy old lady with a dangling ornament in the ear for two hours before it dawned on anyone that I had mixed up the dates.
Babushka had showed up a day late- even for Cubantime that was too much. But nothing lost and much gained. I got to see Goodwood Museum and Gardens. A beautiful, restored plantation which I've never seen in my seven years of living Up North in The South . Its Southern charm and history are well worth the visit and I plan to go back soon.
Don't know what was on the menu, but whatever it was was eaten in style. Even the outdoor porch had fine china settings in place. Please take a moment to notice the names on the placecards. Miss Keller (as in Helen) and Tolstoy (as in Leo) had been guests at Goodwood. Definitely returning to learn more about this remarkable Tallahassee landmark.
Continuing. Film making- what little I partook of, is fascinating. How many components, and how many steps for each scene!

Each part of production- sound, camera, director, they each explained what was expected of the actors and what would take place in every scene.
Notice the tape on the floor? Si, the "marks". They show actors and crew where to place themselves.

Now that all the explanations were done it was time to ...

wait.
I now understand why stars ask for some of the things they ask for. It truly is a "hurry up and wait" sort of routine, but BB didn't mind at all; Babushka was thoroughly entertained. I made friends with Dorothea Syleos, a very talented local actress I had seen perform Shakespeare, who was worried I hadn't been told my role there. Poor mujer needn't have worried, as I said I had plenty to entertain myself with. I had my iPod, my Babushka tools,

and the food.
Si, the fabled production pounds, the food spread during filming is a fact.
Maybe that's what finally made them question why BB was there.
Let's be truthful, unlike Divas I don't have to watch my weight, so, free food??
Ahuh. 'Nuff said.
; )
Esta bien, I didn't get into the film, but it was a nice adventure and I'm ready for my next one.
Babushka Besos a todos. Cuidensen.
