The S Sisters are at it again. Just la semana pasada BB was talking about the importance of reading to children and suggested some good books, when along comes an email from Disney letting Babushka know of their telling of two literary classics, A Wrinkle in Time and Mary Poppins.

Now why the shoutout to BabyBoomers? Porque BB remembers these from her childhood. The Wrinkle in Time series began in 1962 (a very good year) and quickly became a success as science fiction for children. Babushka read the whole series, from Meghan's childhood to where she becomes a madre, marrying- bueno, let's just say it's a series that captures your heart and imagination and well worth the read. "It is the first book in L'Engle's Time Quintet, which follows the Murry and O'Keefe families." As far as the movie-

A WRINKLE IN TIME opens in theatres everywhere this Friday March 9th!

Se ve BUENISIMO! Pero honestly, being Sci-Fi, BB had no doubt that they'd do justice to this Babyboomer book, but how could they redo and enhance their masterpiece Mary Poppins?  Here Babushka was apprehensive and dare she say even a tad offended?  Story goes that bb was taken by her parents to the NY screening of Mary Poppins and the tunes were sung incessantly from then on. And bb was only 2!! Quite an impression it made.  Felizmente Disney realized they couldn't better their classic, so they have crafted a story continuing the original, 20 years later. Gracias and Well done Disney. Not only is this appreciated, but bringing back Dick Van Dyke in this latest rendition pulls at the heart strings of those of us who remember him from the original. Y Babushka has to say that  casting Lin-Manuel Miranda as the current sweep- Sensacional!!

Peter Rabbit.  Do you remember the story from your childhood?  Bueno, now it'll be part of your children's childhood too.  Based on the timeless classic, they've continued the story, reved it up un poquito and made it into a marvelous movie.  How does BB know that? The Grands in Miami were lucky enough to go to a screening, and the first thing Rinquincaya said when they called-"Grandma, it was A-MA-ZING!!" He was talking about the pelicula, but it seems like the whole event was fun.

Felices right? Now, part of the event was to come in blue jackets and donate books.  DIL is a VPK maestra and Usborne books consultant, so the latter was no problem. Ahora the blue jackets... as you can see, Rinquincaya borrowed his dad's, but it was for a good cause so he didn't mind.  The cause?

In case y'all don't know de que se trata Peter Rabbit.

SYNOPSIS: Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter's feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne). James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

They ALL enjoyed the pelicula. Hasta 2 year old Laughing Buddha was entertained.

Apparently, this is shocking.(You'll get the joke when you see the movie.)

Si, it was a winning dia, in every sense of the palabra. The Grands were introduced to literary classics, gave to children who didn't have libros, saw a very enjoyable pelicula, and won a gift card to see more movies later on!
