Amiyrah is a well-known African-American mom blogger (currently expecting a new addition to her family) and a firm believer in living a frugal lifestyle without deprivation. Did you know that more than half of the uninsured could find insurance for less than $100 per month (under $50 for people under 35)? The uninsured are exposed to significant financial risk from medical issues, accidents or emergencies. Even young and healthy individuals are at-risk. One trip to the emergency room for a broken arm or a bad ear infection could cost thousands of dollars. Open enrollment for marketplace coverage is set to begin again in the fall, but Medicaid and CHIP is open year-round, and special enrollment is ongoing. As with other elements of the health care law, many of those eligible for coverage don't understand ALL the details. WHILE the Health Insurance Marketplaces don’t OPEN until November 15th, certain “qualifying life events” (like getting married, having a baby, adopting a child, moving, losing your current health insurance, and more) could allow you to get covered now. Here are SOME answers TO questions you might have:

• Am I eligible TO enroll now?

Medicaid AND the Children’s Health Insurance PROGRAM (CHIP) remain available TO everyone eligible throughout the year. People can enroll IN a Marketplace plan IF they've had a "qualifying life event" -- meaning they've gotten married, had a baby, adopted a child, moved residences outside their coverage AREA, gained citizenship, LEFT incarceration, OR lost their health coverage. IN most cases, once such an event OCCURS, a person has a 60-day WINDOW TO GET coverage. More than 30 years ago, BB remembers how her mother was such a soccer fan,(si, I know, I'm using the American name ) that when South Florida had a team she would take us to all the games. Hoping to show solidarity and support for a sport that she knew wasn't really on the US radar, she would scream louder than anyone in the bleachers. Unfortunately the time for soccer wasn't then, but her love of soccer did pass on to the latest generation.

#HTTYD2 A Preview, Review and an Event for Celebration!!

If you remember in my June's a Jumpin' post, 

I told you the special dates BB has during that month, well there is one more:

Bueno, as y'all know, BB loves her Twofers, and the ultimate ones are when my Beloved Blogging can make my Beloved Familia happy. With the screening of How To Train Your Dragon 2  Babushka hit the motherload! My Eldest, who had just celebrated a birthday con her son El Dr. the day before, had never been to a screening, and had in fact never seen the First HTTYD movie- her review.  Not meaning to spoil her post but, she enjoyed it.  My three grandsons went and had "the best time ever!" but that was kinda a given, BB knew that was going to happen; the surprise came from my son MAC.  Not one to give glowing accounts, he was spouting nonstop accolades for this picture. "It was great for all ages! Not one of us in the group was bored. The story, the animation, even the 3D effects with all the flying- AWESOME! I will definitely buy this one for me- uh, the kids."

Babushka on Laundry Day

Si, that was Babushka on Laundry Day. Y no, I'm not being Cubana, BB truly felt that way. As you well know, housework is not a favorite thing of BB's, but neither is botando el dinero. Not knowing how to sort laundry,color bleeding stains, have ruined many a good piece of clothing and so I took it upon myself to be the designated laundry sorter of the house. Porque either the others truly didn't get the concept or se estaban haciendo los bobos (playing dumb); BB felt that way every Laundry Day.

But then my wonderful amigas of #CollectiveBias sent me an email saying Purex had a new detergent, that "The Rules have Changed". Gracias to "a new Anti-Color-Transfer Technology which traps loose dyes in the wash and does not let them settle onto other fabrics.  As a result we are able to simplify their laundry routine by doing less sorting and less loads." Perro Caliente-Hot Dog!! #LaundrySimplified ESSSOOOOO!!!

With these words singing in my head,  

BB was flying to Walmart on wings and a prayer for this heavenly product.

I remember when BB was bb and mi madre taught me how to sort laundry.  We actually used to sort laundry before and after washing as a family activity! What can I say- it was before cable tv and Feibu. It would take hours for us to do it all. Felizmente, The Rules have Changed.

Bueno, is Babushka spending less time doing laundry?
