Dia de Los Muertos a la BB.

Those that have followed Babushka and know her. will understand her circular way of thought. Being CubanAmerican, the celebration of Dia de los Muertos was not known to BB, we tend to have our daily altar, but the events of the day coincided with the holiday- in Babushka's mind. 

No insulto intended to anyone on this or any other day.

Dia de los Muertos isn't celebrated directly in Casa BB. Being of Cuban descent, altars are a daily thing and no particular days set aside for loved ones, unless you're name is Barbara, or another celebrated saint. That being said, Babushka loves the premise behind the Dia de los Muertos celebration and realized that in her own way she did celebrate.  Here then are the events del dia:

Social Vegan, Vegetarian Food, Tallahassee Florida

Started a madre/daughter afternoon having lunch at the Social Vegan, a new vegetarian foodspot in Tallahassee. We went there porque Little One doesn't eat meat, because BB vegetarian??

Ni Muerta!  (This is why it clicks with the day. Si, that's how Babushka's cerebro calibrates.)  Anyway, the food was delicioso!! But BB should have known that when she saw the available literature.

Conexion Newspaper where BB has been a columnist for over 7 años

Next, onto an infamous, must visit, local legend, the Tallahassee Auto Museum.

And BB thought she was a collector!!  Wow and Woah. Don't let the nombre fool you Beautifuls, there is much more in the museum than just cars. Tienen pianos, knives, dolls, toys, sports memorabilia, Star Wars, Star Trek, Tractors, mejor dicho, what don't they have???  Aqui, a little video from an amiga who works at the museum, Debbie Potter. 

Some highlights:

Batman, with the actual cars used in the movies and series.

Elvis, definitivamente a BB favorite.

Since this museum honors the past, Babushka thought it very apropo to visit on this dia.

The actual Presidential Hearse that carried Abraham Lincoln's body to burial. 

Our last stop, after all that walking, we crossed the street and had pedicures at Elegant Nails. 

And why was this part of this post? Think like BB and guess.

Halloween is one of Babushka's favorito events. The decoraciones, the caramelos, the costumes!! What a wonderful way to bring out our fantasies. One of BB's biggest fantasia se preste for this day, it's spending a GNO with Disney's Villains, the Despicable Divas. The attitudes, the wardrobe, the cackles, all in one room.  Just picture it...

This months meeting place le toco a Maleficent. Seclusion of course is a must, and so is water access for Ursula, so Aurora's old abandoned cottage was perfecto. Always looking forward to their get togethers, they are anxious to swap tales, plots, and wrecking recipes. It's a welcome change to be with others like them, away from the rifraf.  Into  the cottage they come, the first thing you notice of course are the dressings and accesories.

Babushka has a confession to make. She never saw any of the prior Hotel Transylvania peliculas.

Being a long distance abuela, some of the animated movies slipped by.  Now that Cristyl's Crew is nearby, BB's playing catch up.  The Hotel Transylvania series was liked by them, so when BB was offered the Hotel Transylvania 3 , she felizmente said Si!

Thankfully the characters are likeable, the premises and plots not too complicated, so by starting with #HotelT3 BB didn't get lost and was able to catch up and enjoy the movie almost immediately. Now here's a sypnosis of it.


"follows in the tradition of the blockbuster Hotel Transylvania franchise when Mavis surprises Dracula with a family voyage on a luxury, haunted monster cruise ship. Of course, the rest of the Drac Pack has to tag along, and that’s when things get a little…batty. The monsters are having a great time, indulging in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to colossus-sized buffets and exotic excursions, but then the unexpected happens when Drac falls for the ship’s mysterious (and dangerous) human captain Ericka. Today Babushka gave you a Twofer!! 2 posts in one day. Quee?? JU SO FONII!!! True, it's Halloween and BB's been dipping into the candy bags, but that's not the reason for this post.  As part of the BlogginMamas network, we were asked to help with a social good project, and when BB saw it was for Goodwill??  ESO!! The number of times I've shopped and donated! Matter of fact, the trio learned how to budget, appreciate, and be creative with things found at our local Goodwill stores. Halloween was our all time favorite reason to visit. I'll never forget finding the perfect dress for My Eldest and her Miss America costume, it was bella! Only for her to later add wilted flowers, zombie face, and dress up as "Dead Miss America".  And y'all think I kid when I say I'm still shellshocked from their ::shudder:: Puberty.  Continuing.

Goodwill's been around forever, and since there's no reason to reinvent the rueda, here is some information from them.

A simple item donated to Goodwill® can help provide job training programs, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience, or face other challenges to finding employment.
