The Future is Bright If You Handle it Right. @FloridaPrepaid Enrollment ends 2/29- NO CUBANTIME!!!

Babushka is part of Florida College Prepaid & Bloggin' Mamas Mama'bassadors program, but even if she weren't, the opinions are still 100% BB.  Been a fan of them for years.

HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!

As you know by now, Babushka is a fan of the Florida College Prepaid Plan bigtime, long time. First it was for The Trio, and then for The Grands.  This truly is something that they’ll use many times over and in so many ways!  The beneficiary has up to 10 years to use the plan for schooling.

10 years.png

My two girls used it for college, while my son was able to use the money put into the plan for him and use it towards his sons’ education.  There’s no losing in the plan- except for losing out on the enrollment date.

Coooorreeee Beautifuls, you only have until the 29th of this month to start your child’s chance for mañana- pero don’t wait ‘till mañana!!  #StartingIsBelieving and what better way is there to show that than by putting a little bit aside each month for their college? Y ahora it’s better than ever! Back in the day only Babushka could have a plan for The Trio- nowadays families can take out separate plans for the same child!  Los abuelos, tios, anyone can help pay for a child’s future with individual 1 year plans. Imaginate- if 4 people each pay for a one year plan, the schooling for that child is done.

Here’s a quick summary of the plans:

"1-Year Florida University Plan:
o   Now there is a more affordable way to save for State University credit hours. Introducing the
new 1-Year Florida University Plan
o   You can purchase one year, or 30 credit hours, at a time according to your budget and
timeline, without feeling the pressure of having to buy all four years at once
o   The plan also allows multiple purchasers to buy a plan for the same child. So now you can
team up with other family members to help pay for your child’s higher education
For example, let Grandma and Grandpa buy one year and you purchase another. A
child can have up to four 1-Year Florida University Plans
-
2-Year Florida College Plan
o   Set your child up with a practical, affordable path to entering his/her chosen career with an
associate’s degree or trade certification
o   Give your child the advantage over those with only a high school diploma
o   Like all of our plans, every cent of the value of this plan can be applied at any university or
college nationwide
-
4-Year Florida College Plan
o   There are 28 Florida colleges and they’ve expanded their capabilities far beyond the two-year
programs. In fact, most now offer four-year bachelor’s degree programs in growth industries
like nursing and teaching, and continue to grow their degree programs year after year.
o   And since they’re typically less expensive than a university education, the 4-Year Florida
College Plan provides a practical, affordable path to a bachelor’s degree
o   Like all of our plans, every cent of the value of this plan can be applied at any university or
college nationwide
-
2+2 Florida College Plan
o   Your child can receive a degree from one of Florida’s prestigious state universities for less than
a typical four-year university degree
o   By starting your child off at one of the state’s 28 Florida colleges, you’ll save money on lower-
level courses before transferring to a State University to finish off their degree
o   Students with this plan are guaranteed admission to a state university once they’ve earned
their associate’s degree at a Florida college
-
4-Year Florida University Plan
o   This Plan will start your child off at one of Florida’s 12 prestigious state universities and see
them through their four-year journey.
o   If your child decides to start at a college (which are typically less expensive), the unused funds
from this Plan can be applied to a post-secondary degree or you can get the remaining money
back
o   Like all of our plans, this isn’t just restricted to Florida schools; the amount covered by your

Prepaid Plan can be used at schools nationwide."

@GoodwillIntl Not just a name, but a Mission. #DonateStuffCreateJobs

HolaHolaHola My Beautifuls!!

Today Babushka gave you a Twofer!! 2 posts in one day. Quee?? JU SO FONII!!! True, it's Halloween and BB's been dipping into the candy bags, but that's not the reason for this post.  As part of the BlogginMamas network, we were asked to help with a social good project, and when BB saw it was for Goodwill??  ESO!! The number of times I've shopped and donated! Matter of fact, the trio learned how to budget, appreciate, and be creative with things found at our local Goodwill stores. Halloween was our all time favorite reason to visit. I'll never forget finding the perfect dress for My Eldest and her Miss America costume, it was bella! Only for her to later add wilted flowers, zombie face, and dress up as "Dead Miss America".  And y'all think I kid when I say I'm still shellshocked from their ::shudder:: Puberty.  Continuing.

Goodwill's been around forever, and since there's no reason to reinvent the rueda, here is some information from them.

A simple item donated to Goodwill® can help provide job training programs, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience, or face other challenges to finding employment. In fact, Goodwill is the leading nonprofit provider of job training programs and career services in the United States and Canada.

Did you know that donating one bag of clothing and one bag of books can equal up to 2.3 hours of on-the-job training for someone in your community? Add to that a used lamp, a dusty computer and perhaps a box of DVDs and CDs, and that number nearly doubles to 5.2 hours! Click Goodwill’s Donation page and see the “Donation Impact Calculator” - it’ll tell you how many service hours will be generated thanks to your tax deductible donation.

Once you see how vital you can be to your community but giving items you no longer use or need, I’m sure you’ll be happy to donate. Here’s the Goodwill Locator tool that not only specifies drop off locations, but it can help you find Goodwill stores, headquarters, and job training facilities nearby.

About Goodwill Industries International

Goodwill Industries International is a network of 165 community-based agencies in the United States and Canada with affiliates in 13 other countries. Goodwill is one of America’s top 25 most inspiring companies (Forbes). Goodwill agencies are innovative and sustainable social enterprises that fund job training programs, employment placement services and other community-based programs by selling donated clothing and household items in more than 2,700 stores and online at shopgoodwill.com®. Local Goodwill agencies also build revenue and create jobs by contracting with businesses and government to provide a wide range of commercial services, including packaging and assembly, food service preparation, and document imaging and shredding. In 2012, more than 6.7 million people in the United States and Canada benefited from Goodwill’s career services. Goodwill channels 82 percent of its revenues directly into its programs and services.

To find a Goodwill near you, use the online locator at www.goodwill.org, or call (800) GOODWILL.

You can follow them on Tweety:  @GoodwillIntl, and on Feibu: GoodwillIntl.

Como BB mentioned, this was a Social Good post in conjunction with BlogginMamas.
As a single mom of 3, and even now, I enjoy shopping at my local Goodwill store.

They've even made Babushka look forward to Mondays.

All clothing is marked 50% off.
