Guess who turned One? Quee?? JU SO FONII!!! No, it wasn't my granddaughter La Princesa, aunque the one we're celebrating is definitivamente an important part of her life and those like her. Since last July, ABLEUnited has been helping familias with special needs children to save for their future without endangering any government ayuda they receive. Ya tienen el año and in celebration they're waving all sign up fees!

"ABLE United is Florida’s qualified ABLE program, which was established to encourage and assist people with disabilities to save private funds to support health, independence and quality of life. It allows individuals to save up to $14,000 annually without affecting benefits like Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid while the funds in the account grow tax-free. Funds can be used on qualified expenses covering a wide range of categories including housing, transportation, and basic living expenses.  "

“For years, individuals receiving federal benefits were dramatically limited in the amount of money they could save, but now, they have an opportunity to truly invest in their financial future.”

"ABLE United is different from other savings and investment options available for individuals with disabilities. Benefits include:

• The funds saved in the account generally will not affect government benefits like Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
• The ability to use funds from the account to pay for a wide variety of expenses tax-free.
• The account is owned by the individual with the disability, though an authorized person may establish and help oversee the account.
• Anyone can contribute to the account, allowing the individual to save with the help of family and friends. "

Already Un Año- Can it be? Confession Time.

Today marks one year of Babushka's Baile, and Babushka's 1st birthday. Que queeee???  Si, a year ago, on August 3, 2011 BB was born.  You didn't really think all of Babushka could possibly be contained within one person did you?  JU SO FONII!!!  No no my Beautifuls, I am the-inner spirit-hippie soul-brain child of Sonia Guerra.  She's the chicken and I'm the egg; she came first.  Yeap, that makes her the old hen, La Gallina Vieja.  She says BB's "her to the nth degree", while I say she's BB on Valium!  Sonia's the vieja of the duo, but she does have her merit.  Read her poem We Are- de ves en cuando la vieja pega uno.

BB is a Leo.  As described by Tarot.com, of course I follow that, Leo is- 'The Lion is considered the king of the jungle, and likewise you Leos have an air of royalty about you. Some Leos even have hair resembling the thick mane of the Lion. But Lions are more than roar, for they are truly magnificent beasts. The Lioness proudly cares for the young, hunts and takes care of survival with relentless intent and ferocity, when needed. And proud are you Lions! Perhaps that's why you often choose work that puts you in the center of stage or in the spotlight of appreciation. '
