Neri Torres was given the 2013 Heritage Award, recognizing her
"significant contributions to Florida's cultural heritage." For 15 years, since coming to the USA, she's been promoting, performing, and educating the public on the Afro-Cuban culture and how its' roots are very much alive and relevant in today's world. Sharing the Orisha traditions as well as the history of Cuban music, she is a joyful teacher who exudes the love of what she does.
