Time To Love

Febrero, Febuary- the month of Love, and the Chinese New Year. Coincidence? 

More like Perfección.

The first love should always be, to ourselves. To our feelings, our beliefs, our worth. Without that Beautifuls, are we truly loving anyone else? You can’t give fully if you’re not fully yourself.  And is anything else worth giving if you can’t give it Your All? Si, BB hears you. Life has you being gentle, not gung ho, not the full Beautiful you can be. Sometimes your 100 is only 25 porque La Vida truly is La Vida Loca, but that’s ok. Just give with all your being, even if 25% is all your being. The 100 percent is your truth at the momento, del corazon. Great to remember that heartlove as we go into the New Lunar Year.

Being of Chinese descent, Babushka makes sure to celebrate this holiday. For BB, it’s the time to truly set our sights. In past writings, the joy and timing of this holiday was shared. We’ve had time to do- or NOT do our “New Year’s Resolutions”. How’s that going for ya Beautifuls?? Let’s smile at ourselves when we think about that. Porque, Life~ JU SO FONII!!  

Imagine seeing a toddler learning to walk. They know they want to get across the room. Their legs not quite steady, pero still they try; las ganas don’t go away. Would you laugh at them or smile, knowing that eventually they’ll find the way. Do you stop caring/loving, because they didn’t get there straight away?  See yourself as that toddler, KNOW that eventually you’ll find the way. Worthy of amor, encouragement each and everytime we follow our callings and are true to them; true to ourselves. 

Getting back to the New Lunar Year, it’s the year of the Fire Horse.

These are the Vibes of the Year and BB is certainly feeling them and soaking them in. Bit mucho, pero taking Deep Breaths and absorbing.  

Ready to Gallop in 2026.

2026- May this be a year of LOVE, a year of YOU.

It’s Diciembre. We’re now in the holiday hustle. Present list to write and buy, menus to make with comidas to cook, people to visit, 1000 cosas to do.  Pero first, the most importante thing- have you asked Santi Clo for your regalo? What are you hoping for from los Reyes? You’re never too old for making a list. And you’re never too old for putting yourself on the top of that list.

Before the Crisma CorreCorre gets more frantic, do algo with BB Beautifuls. 

Sientate, Sit. STILL. Hands Down, Arms on your Sides. Ahora, a DEEP, SLOW, BREATH, Hold for 3, Exhale for 3. Next, and this is the most importante, lift both arms al cielo, boca and eyes as open as possible, do a happy jiggle, and BIGGEST SELF HUG YOU CAN!!!  A quick apreton, then a slow one, appreciate YOU. It’s the end of the year Beautifuls, and you’ve made it. Selfhugging make you feel silly? Saben que? LIFE is SILLY. Si, porque no matter how fast we run, it’s faster. No matter how frantic we get, it’s soon forgotten. No matter how furious we get, it fades. It will go on, and so will you. Esto is just a reminder to be gentler, kinder, observant of todo. And you are a very importante part of that TODO. Nunca, Never doubt or forget that.  

So, take that Deep Breath, Give YOURSELF a Giant ABRAZOTE, and get your holidays hopping. Just don’t forget the most importante regalo during the dance. Remember your best dance partner, and let it lead- Selflove y Amor Propio.

May is for Mother's Day & Ms.Olivia - A BB BounceBack

This post was originalmente shared in 2012. Seems increible to BB that it's been 5 years already since I met Ms. Olivia, and also incredible that seeing her foto and recalling her aura still makes me smile and gives me paz.  Totally perfeccion that this be shared in the month we celebrate Mother's Day.  She just exuded motherly love, patience, the vibe of knowing and enjoying each moment.  Her "Life is so cool, and I'm cool with it."  attitude just radiated and encompassed. Babushka forget Ms. Olivia?  JU SO FONII!!!

4/2012   BB's an Original, but Ms Olivia is the Real Thing.
Saw her at the bus terminal and knew right away BB was seeing her future self.  Older but oh so stylish, she meshed the retro past with the boldness of today and gave it a flair of her own.  She was marvelous.

Traveling with her two daughters and her granddaughter, you could see she had loved and lived and continued to do both with grace and a natural air.  Babushka was all excited with plans and strategy for the Hispanicize 2012 conference and was in her own little world- and then she saw Ms. Olivia who reminded me what BB's real world should be.

Here was a woman who had found her way a long time ago, was comfortable in her skin, whose very essence exuded "this is my style, this is my life, this is me- and I like me".  Her beauty - inner and outer brought tears BB's eyes.  Have you ever sensed the presence of true beauty?  The knowledge of self worth and the radiance of self acceptance- THIS is true beauty  and Ms Olivia embodied it.

Babushka had to take a picture of her, to remind oneself of what is possible, to remember what BB aspires to be,  and so shyly approached Babushka's new idol to ask her permission.  Ok si, I hear you- "BB, You- Shy?!?  JU SO FONII!!!"  And you'd be right 99% of the time to doubt, but this was the 1% of our human race who had actually attained self love and Babushka was in awe and humbled. 

She graciously heard Babushka's petition, smiled, and told me she'd discuss it with her daughter.  Her daughter of course wanted to be assured of one's sincerity and asked why BB wanted to photograph her mother.  It was explained how Babushka wanted to capture her mother's style and love of self.   Apparently she believed BB because she came looking for me when we had a stop over, and BB didn't give her a chance to change her mind.

Ms. Olivia was in pure joy when she posed for the camera as was Babushka that she had allowed me the honor. BB believes her daughter had known her mother was exceptional as she thanked me profoundly for noticing.  But how can one not notice?  It would be like not noticing the Lady Moon as she shines and shimmers, not noticing her beauty naturally escaping and filling our nights. No, BB's the one who is thankful to Ms. Olivia for her example and hope this does her justice as she inspires us all to embrace our lives and ourselves.
