Babushka is always looking for toys that will entertain and hopeful enlighten The Grands. Thinking she's found todo she was looking for at Target. Quee?? Good Coffee and cute clothes is what you think when you think of Target? Pues, the children aren't the only ones to get schooled!! Oh the maravillas in toys here. Let's start with the basics. Balls. Simple, but boring? Not these.

Wubbles Groovy Glow

Not only was he able to blow the Wubble up easily, he was groovin' with the Groovy Colores mixing and expanding with each breath.  Naturally the Glow in the Dark was a cool thing too. Here BB will let y'all know that the longer you expose it to light, the longer it'll glow, so a little more than the 10 mins. suggested will be that much cooler to see.  Also want to share that Wubbles truly are fun to play with, indoors and out- but not after a rainshower. We learned that the hard way. Pero, they were fun again once they dried and cleaned off.

Next was a "toy" that truly had Dr.J showing off his physician potential. 

He went at it with precision and persistance.

Smithsonian Mars Dig

 The Smithsonian Mars Dig is part of the STEM Science division. Highlights:

Dig and collect the same type of rocks found on Mars.
Assemble a scale model of the Mars Perseverance Rover.
Learn about Martian geology and space exploration.

Disney's Doc McStuffins Mobile Clinic - Move over Dora.

This review was facilitated; BB got it in the mail for her opinion. Y aqui esta.

Hoy Babushka gets to review the newest of Disney's Doc McStuffins videos- Mobile Clinic.  Once again the S Sisters were looking out for BB, because the Doc happens to be the latest love of my granddaughter La Princesa.  Not only that, but it's also her 5th Bday on March 27 and she'll be getting this DVD - talk about Terrific Twofer!!

NOW IN STORES!!!

Honestamente, I wanted to see how could Doc replace the classic y muy querida Dora, so I was happy to receive and review the DVD.  Ahora, let's see what La Princesa enjoys about the Doc.

Episode 1- Doc McStuffins Goes McMobile

In this episode Doc McStuffins realizes she needs a mobile way to tend to her patients. 

The takeaways were:

Checkups-  what is done during a doctor visit

Perserverance- the Doc kept at her "Doc Mobile" until it became a reality.

Episode 2 Chip Off The Ol' Box

The support of friends & family is the main idea of this episode. 

Takeaways:

It's OK to ask for help.

Parents get sick too.

Believe in yourself.

Episode 3 Doc to the Rescue

Staying Calm during Emergencies was the main point of this episode.

Now, even though that was the main point and takeaways for children, 

for BB this was my fav because it was hysterical!! 

 In this scene the Doc asks the doll what she learned- and BB quotes, 

"Fashion Wear isn't the answer to everything"

Episode 4- Don't Knock the Noggin'

The importance of headgear is highlighted in this episode.

Takeaway:

You can be "Rad" and cool while wearing a helmet.

Helmets help against head injuries.

Ok, BB can see the attraction and even appreciates La Princesa going to the Doc.

De veras, how can you not see the pluses of a female doctor, African American, who can fix toys with intelligence, care and song, while also having a loving family who supports her and her medical practice.  BELLA!! I can see where my granddaughter would sympathize and see herself, and a great role model like Doc McStuffin is most celebrado en our house. Now... if we can only teach her to speak in Spanish...

BB wholeheartedly approves and enjoys Disney's Doc McStuffins Mobile Clinic and knows y'all will too.

Santa is a Wannabe Grandpa

Santa is a wannabe Grandpa, for sure for sure. And not only is he a wannabe grandpa (at least I've never heard stories of his kids), but I think he was Cuban in a past life. Oh si, because BB recognizes a fellow extremist when she sees them.

By outer everyday appearances we grandparents keep busy in a simpler, more even paced lifestyle. Note as an example Babushka and Sweetie's Christmas tree.  A true reflection of us as a couple- his obsession w/anything Peanuts related and BB's obsession w/anything chocolate related.

HOWEVER, inwardly we are mischievous elves reliving Christmas's past and waiting to share the joys of those memories.  In abuelo language that's called Puberty ::shudder:: Payback Presents y Santi Clo is the Numero Uno hombre honoring this tradition. Queee?? JU SO FONII!!! Por supuesto, and but of course BB has proof.  How else can you explain this?

Who else but a grandparent, someone who remembers Christmas's past would give these two-

Santa's the poster child of Grandparents.  Not only does he give these kinds of marvelous presents, but he then disappears into the night until the following year, leaving the parents the sounds and pieces of the season.  And he gets milk and cookies for doing this!!

As Babushka sits here, far away Up North in The South ,  seeing the pictures via Feibu and sipping her coquito spiked café, I am missing my grandchildren and can't wait to see them.  Once again the Man in Red sent the perfect gift to BB. In total solidarity and knowing, he sent me earplugs and combat boots.

Santi Clo, every year I believe in you more and more.

Letters to Santa

'Tis the season for letter writing to Santa, or as they say en la Little Havana- carticas a Santi Clo. Ok, si, there may not be snow or sleighbells in Florida, but that doesn't mean the little fingers here don't write as furious as the ones up north. I'd even say that there are MORE letters to that jolly soul from here (not because they behave better, it's just that their tiny fingers aren't frozen).

But before the letters go out we must get into the holiday spirit- South Florida style.

Christmas time in Miami.

There are no Christmas tree farms down here so off to the stores we go.....

and then come the lights and decoration.

The only proof that it's winter in this part of the country.

Of course there's a lot more preparation for the grown ups, but for the kiddies only one more task is needed- the ever important letter to good ol' Saint Nick.

And what did my grandbabies ask of Dear Santa?

The eldest, el Dr., asked for 3 items. He's in need of Legos and the villians Shredder and Dekker. When asked why he wanted villians he said he needed them so his superheroes had a reason to defend the city he was going to build with his Legos. Genio- Genius, that's him- pure genius.

And his sister La Princesa you ask? What's on her list? JU SO FONII !!! She's La Princesa and already has everything she wants. Besides, whatever comes into the house she knows is hers, so why bother with a list?

As for Rinquincaya y PicaPica- hanky alert.

When PicaPica, 5 year old grown up that he is, was asked what he wanted he said,

"I want a flower for mommy, and my family happy."

::eyes tearing::

With faces brimming with joy and love, and while exclamations of awwww were heard throughout the room, we then turned to Rinquincaya. Knowing he always wants to be like his older brother, we awaited with anticipation the precious words to come. So, what do you want from Santa ?

Without hesitation he looked at all the adults in the room and said,

" Toys".

I didn't say you needed a big hankie....
