HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!
Without a doubt, a Disney on Ice show is spectacular, on so many levels.
Babushka's Bunch was so thrilled with the invite, some of them came down all the way from Jacksonville to see the show in Miami! That's the well deserved reputation of these shows. Quality all around in every performance; the magic and joy is in the air before it even starts. Then again, not many programs have such well known and much loved characters...
Where is Tinkerbell???
And so the search and the show comienza. At what a search it is!!
Through so many diferente mundos, pero todos knew them. One of the happy factores of a
Disney on Ice production is that aunque the plot is different, the songs are the same.
What a wonderful thing to witness, an entire audience cantando their favorite Disney cancion.
Entire intergenerational familias, singing with smiles and clapping along with la musica. Pero this the only reason it's loved?JU SO FONII!! The All Around Artistry is Astounding. From the sets, to the costumes, the props to the souvenir popcorn, all phenomenal, and the actual performances?
The choreography and precision of the skating is truly enchanted, as befits a Disney production.
Coco was Laughing Buddha's favorito.
The Happy Ending!
So al final, what do Babushka's Bunch say to Disney On Ice?
Family bonding and lifelong memorias for sure.
Don't fret if you didn't see it, here's where you can follow them-
This was in the Agosto edition of Conexion - the official 10 year mark was 8/11/11.
HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!
Si, it's true, Babushka has been bailando on the www for 10 years. Wow and Woah! Ya know, people say "The years went by so fast. Bolaron!" Bueno, si and no...
True, this year has more than flown, and when BB looks at The Trio, she still hasn't comprehended that they are the parents of The Grands. Pero think of it, the last ten years... Babushka feels it all.
Do you recall the last ten years Beautifuls? Do you feel the last ten years?
BB certainly does porque she did it fully, passionately, and is grateful for it all.
The first tagline of the blog was:
My daily dance- sometimes I lead, sometimes I follow, and sometimes I get my toes stepped on. I may not recall the lyrics, but the music is always of my own choosing.
original blog set up
BB definitely has felt the dancing, even had to comprar cases of Dr.Scholl's, but it was all a choice as to who would be Babushka's partner. Does your memoria say the same to you? Did you truly live the last ten years? Are you ready to totally live the next? For her part, BB looks forward to the upcoming 10 years of bailes and hopes you'll be dancing right alongside her.
BB's in Miami visiting fma. Familia...definition is very broad verdad?
Disney's latest on that, power of protest and freedom. Perfecto for these times.
The One and Only Ivan
"An adaptation of the award-winning book about one very special gorilla, Disney’s “The One and Only Ivan” is an unforgettable tale about the beauty of friendship, the power of visualization and the significance of the place one calls home. Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and various other animals. He has few memories of the jungle where he was captured, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ruby is recently separated from her family in the wild, which causes him to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be. The heartwarming adventure, which comes to the screen in an impressive hybrid of live-action and CGI, is based on Katherine Applegate’s bestselling book, which won numerous awards upon its publication in 2013, including the Newbery Medal."
End of Julio and still no hay final to this Corona Catastrophe.
This is dedicated to The Grands, in particular the dos mas viejo, El Dr. and PicaPica.
Pandemic Panic is tolerable if we learn to say JU SO FONII to current conditions and remember to find the humor in cosas. For BB's parte, this week we see how even the muñequitos are marchando with the worldwide waltz.
At first BB didn't get this one...
but then got such ganas to go on a trip!!
Sadly, so true!
Even sadder. At least they're trying to educate the youngsters...
Ahora, let's go to something more BB's style-
Jasmine es Bella no Boba.
Washing Manos, definitivamente the Bare Necessities.
Y si, BB had to. 😉
And speaking of bears...
As for Casa BB...
Babushka lives on Level 2, aunque the other niveles do pop up sometimes.
It's been awhile since BB has posted sobre Disney, pero their latest pelicula sounds BUENISIMO!
The two eldest Grands are in the midst of ::shudder:: PUBERTY, and too cool for most things, pero Babushka has a feeling this one even they will get into.
In ONWARD, teenage elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot (voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) get an unexpected opportunity to spend one more day with their late dad, embarking on an extraordinary quest aboard Barley’s epic van Guinevere. Like any good quest, their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles and unimaginable discoveries. But when the boys’ fearless mom Laurel (voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus) realizes her sons are missing, she teams up with a part-lion, part-bat, part-scorpion, former warrior – aka The Manticore (voice of Octavia Spencer) – and heads off to find them. Perilous curses aside, this one magical day could mean more than any of them ever dreamed.
Ahora BB doesn't know about you Beautifuls, pero entre the movie description and the trailer, she's ready to watch this pelicula! And when besides the fearless mom, a carro is named and featured, the similarities make this a must see for Babushka. Miren, look at the memory card game del activity pack. Oh Si, Disney/Pixar is sharing that with us too. And who couldn't use some extra help with entertaining young ones??
Babushka was sent the following libros to read and share. Opinions por supuesto are BB's and fma.
HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!
Babushka is sure you’ve done your holiday shopping. Past are the Black Friday specials; Cyber Monday craziness ya se fue and you’ve gotten all the latest “in” toys and doodads. Te felicito. His favorito Disney characters in stories he enjoyed and could follow. Feliz.
Y ahora, algo a little more "adulto".
“An Encyclopedia of Tolkien: The History of Mythology That Inspired Tolkien's World (Leather-bound Classics) by David Day (Canterbury Classics; ISBN: 978-1645170099; Leather Bound Hardcover $24.99; 544 pages) is a comprehensive, illustrated guide to the history, lands, and inhabitants of Middle-earth.

In this beautifully illustrated, leather-bound volume, best-selling author and Tolkien scholar David Day presents four decades of research and writing on the lands and inhabitants Middle-earth. Sections of this A-to-Z dictionary are devoted to discussion of the battles, history, beasts, and heroes of Tolkien’s stories, and are accompanied by black-and-white illustrations. This comprehensive volume on Tolkien’s world also includes an appendix of three primary legends that served as sources for Tolkien’s creations—the Volsunga saga, the Nibelungenlied, and Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle—and more than 200 black-and-white illustrations.”
Babushka wrote "adulto", pero en realidad, when My Little One (27 yr old daughter) saw this book she squealed with delight. Apparently her novio LOVES anything written by or about Tolkien and his mundos, and with each pagina she looked at, the louder the squeals. So, many a millenial will enjoy this as will lovers of this mundo. A very easy and endearing gift to be sure.
So there you have it Beautifuls.
Gifts that will thrill and have them thinking.
Dos libros to make them happy and reach their heart.

Didn't think Disney could continue the Toy Story Saga making new loved characters and still maintaining the beloved bunch, but apparently they did. Grands #5, Dr. J, can't think of the movie without mentioning Forky. Forky. Just when you think they've done all they could, Pixar packs a punchline that is different and delightful. Here's the official story:
"Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in “Toy Story 4,” welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. “Like most people, I assumed that ‘Toy Story 3’ was the end of the story,” said director Josh Cooley. “And it was the end of Woody’s story with Andy. But just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid, was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.”
But Forky insists that he is NOT a toy! An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip. “The world of Toy Story is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a purpose,” said Cooley. “A toy’s purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he’s facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him."
