So another full day of activities were planned for us, and Babushka's beginning to understand why she so loves living UpNorthInTheSouth.  They eat as much as Cubanos!!  Es mas, I'd say for breakfast they even beat us.  De veras.  Don't think that's possible?  Look at this menu- a whole side dedicated to desayuno. AND ALL OF IT GOOD!!!  No wonder they have more than one location.

One of the treasures of Tallahassee, The LeMoyne Center for Visual Arts was founded in 1963 to be a gallery of fine arts and to be a place for art education activities in North Florida.  Turns out, it's one of the top 100 art festivals in the nation! Housed in an 1854 Antebellum home, it houses a gallery, sculpture garden, and year long art classes.  PLUS members of BB's beloved TWAM have portrayed Jacques LeMoyne, the artist the center is named after. On the day we visited we enjoyed the "Side By Side" exhibit by Debby and Randy Brienen.

Listen to museum Director Ann Kozeliski as she shares the history and the current activities the center has, and how it's goal is "to get art into the hands of the people". The growing popularity and fama LeMoyne is having attests that they're doing it right!

That was Babushka's reaction when they said we were going to go on a Segway.
 To which BB said, "No way!"

Pero you know that's blah,blah, because Babushka will try anything once, twice to make sure...
but a little convincing did have to happen...



Some instruction via Tim Nettles, owner of Tallahassee Segway Tours gives a demo to calm our nerves.  The plan was to start at Cascades Park, then go to the Smokey Hollow Commemoration.

So... Did BB actually learn to ride a Segway??

Not only did she ride it Beautifuls, but was zipping all through Tallahassee turning heads!  This was one of the best tours, because not only did we see sights, we were quite the sight ourselves.  We covered a lot of ground in an hour. The Capitol, Railroad Square, College Town, and many other points of interest, all with fascinating facts shared by third generation Tallahassee Tim.  
Though it isn't strenuous, Babushka will stress that it's strictly a straight standing stance and you will feel it once you dismount. Would BB ride a Segway again?  JU SO FONII!!!  She's looking forward to it and is even organizing a publicity tour for TWAM on Segways.  They're fun, "get you around town" attention getters that everyone should try at least once.

A new adventure for your favorita aventurera.  If you've been following BB, you know 2018 has been a challenging year. Even Babushka's other side, La Gallina Vieja had to say algo about it.   Bueno, finances corto, Crisma coming, and honestly an itch to get out of the casa everyday, BB decided Felicia should help around here and work towards her maintenance, sooo, pa'lante with Lyft.  Of course it helps that Sweetie is a master of Drive for Hire. Didn't know that? Been doing it for years. He even wrote a libro about it.

For some reason BB hadn't thought of driving like Sweetie. Went through the usual applying for jobs at local retail shops, but was never called back. You'd think they'd need extra help now for the holiday season verdad? Apparently the S Sisters had a better plan and BB's so glad they did.

Applied online and within hours was approved! It was meant to be porque Sweetie said it usually takes a day or two. Got the official docs in a couple of days.

And BB was on the road!!

The hours are mine, how many rides quiero hacer is up to me, and if BB doesn't feel like going she doesn't. Perfecto! Of course being in such a bello town like Tallahassee helps.

It's almost Navidad. The joyous, happy time of year when we think what regalos would our loved ones want.  Of course, as an abuela BB wants The Grands to be happy, and at their edad that almost definitely means juguetes.  But toys get broken or fall out of grace, and Babushka learned con The Trio that time goes so quickly, and before you know it they've graduated highschool and off to college. Now que exactamente is a Florida Prepaid College Plan? "A Florida Prepaid College Plan allows families to prepay, on a monthly or lump-sum basis, the future cost of college tuition, specified fees and dormitory housing. When your child is ready for college, the plan pays the tuition, tuition differential fee and other specified fees covered under the plan at any Florida College or State University. If your child attends an out-of-state college or private college, the plan will pay the same amount as it would pay at a public college or university in Florida. Every Prepaid Plan is guaranteed by the State of Florida."

BUENISIMO verdad? Ahora it's just a matter of picking the best options for your familia's plans and budget.  There are five prepaid plans available:

Babushka and Sweetie decided to get the 1 year Florida University plan for Dr. J right now. The most economical of the plans, it's also the option that lets various people join in the purchasing. If his other grandparents want, they can purchase the same, and so can his parents. Right there he's got 3 years of university covered. Should he decide he wants to start at a college instead of a university, he can pay that lower tuition and the unused portion goes toward the post secondary degree. And don't let the "Florida" in the name make you think the plan is only good in Florida. Like all their plans, the amount covered can be used nationwide. 

Did you read those Beautifuls? The last bullet point is why we don't have to pay for Grands #6 Florida Prepaid. My son, his dad, didn't use all of his plan and transferred it to his child. One gift that went towards TWO college educations.TWO generations. Now that's the best Twofer Babushka's ever had.

Culturally Quirky Tallahassee, Pa' Summer y Siempre! #BBTallysItUp #iHeartTally

Gracias to Visit Tallahassee for inviting BB to be part of their "Culturally Quirky" Tallahassee tour.
Opinions and good times are Babushka's.  

Planning your summer vacation? Why not plan a visit to Tallahassee, Florida? Ok, verdad. When most people think of Tallahassee they think Universities and Legislatures. Y si, we definitivamente have that, but we're also very interesting y Culturally Quirky. Quee?  JU SO FONII!!! No, not because Babushka lives near, but because there are so many facets to the town even BB didn't know of. Gracias to the Beautifuls of Visit Tallahassee she got to conocer more of the city she loves.

DAY 1

Bueno, you know Babushka, running Cubantime.  Missed the first part of the "Culturally Quirky" tour, which BB heard was an increible view of downtown atop of Level 8 Lounge at Hotel Duval and then an increible dinner at Nefetari's Fine Cuisine and Spirits  .  Pero you know BB, increible would have been her being on time...

And although BB misssed the other maravillas, isn't this outside illumination just maravilloso??

The inside wasn't too shabby either.

Todo esto pa' Babushka. Vieron el view Beautifuls?  Vieron the welcome bucket? 

Brochures of places we'll see, selfie stick, agua, and porque they know BB so well, Snacks.

Pero that was for mañana, and according to the itinerary, mañana was going to be a full day. 

 Architecture and Archives, History of Florida and History of Craft Beer, Beanz for Lunch with an Illuminating Dinner, and then ending the noche by a Campfire Cantando the Blues.  

To make sure we were well fueled for such a busy dia, Visit Tallahasse was going to take us to a local Tally Treasure loved for 30 years.  Well known for their breakfasts, BB was already thinking about their menu.  

So Babushka made sure to go right to la cama.

Porque for that she wasn't going to be running Cubantime.
