#TBT BB's Memorable Memorial Day 2012

HolaHolaHola Beautifuls! The following was originally posted in Junio of 2012.  Babushka's blog has changed a bit since this was written, and si, it's been a few years, pero she remembers the day well. A newbie on the blogging scene, BB was touched by the kindness of strangers who welcomed her into their mundo.

Except for updating some of the links, the post is shared just as it was written in 2012. One importante nota to add- the original dedication was in memory to our military heroes, in this writing Babushka is also honoring Jewel Figueras, a blogger who became a very querida amiga. She too fought for the liberties and derechos of others and lost her fight to ovarian cancer in 2017. No doubt she is shining brightly in heaven as she did for us here.

BB had no plans for Memorial Day.  As you know, I am currently in Miami visiting La Tata, with no transportation except public transit, which actually isn't a bad way to travel and I wish we had it in my rural town Up North in The South, but the days are getting hotter and the walks between bus stops and final destinations seem longer when its hotter, and those of you who know me know Babushka doesn't do hotter, so before this one sentence becomes a paragraph all by itself, let's just stop it here and say BB had no plans for Memorial Day.

But then there was Feibu.

Actually, then there was an invite via Feibu from the Hispanicize team to join them at Jungle Island- free admission w/BBQ for a blogger and a family member. Hola!

BB pass up a chance to go out, with family, for food, and for free? JU SO FONII!!
The first RSVP was Babushka's.

Costumes of Tri-Co-Tree 2012- Day 25 of SMCSF 30 day blog challenge

Sooooo??  How was it??  Did you get lots of candy?? Did you have to hide some away?? Are you ready to send some to Babushka??  heje  Ok si, it was in the middle of the week but I know that didn't stop My Beautifuls from having fun and getting caramelo!!  I was looking on Feibu and saw quite a few of you and your children in great costumes.  Queee?? JU SO FONII!!!  Of course I have pictures of my grandbabies in their costumes.

Rinquincaya & PicaPica at JungleIsland

I think Spidey scared the parrot- it looks like it fainted!

Then there are the other two grandbabies

La Princesa

Not even as Minnie can she stand still!
But  BB loves her- especially since she's 9 hours away.

My eldest Grandbaby-
who has been wearing the same costume for 2 years because he still loves Transformers

Steady Freddy is this one.

And their mother- My biggest baby, The Eldest of my trio

Personally I think she should have won her office party's Halloween Costume Contest.
In an election year this may not have been the smartest choice,
but I think she carried it off so well.

; )

What did you do on Halloween?
Share with BB the activities and the costumes- I'd love to see them on my Feibu wall!

Feliz Tri-co-Tree!!

What I Did This Summer

Hola Hola Hola My Beautifuls! BB's feeling a bit nostalgic today and I'm remembering the times I had to write about summer vacation during my school days. Queee? JU SO FONII!!! Yes, I remember back that far.  Besides, I'm currently in Miami, land of the perpetual summer so it's still very valid around here.

Now in between the "big" eventos- the American Latino Heritage Fund Roadtrip, the Oogieloves film debut, the Ford Fusion contest, were the everyday ordinary living life happenings.  Things like -

Birthdays

Graduations

El Dr. from Kinder, PicaPica from VPK

DIL Early Childhood Education

Fairs

La Tata enjoying herself immensely.

Ana Margarita Menendez

Ok si, not a blood relative of mine, but it sure feels like it!  She played Carmencita on the PBS series Que Pasa USA- a much loved program that was filmed here in Miami.  My friend Carrie described perfectly the way I felt when I met her. Go check out the Tiki Tiki post -   it has videos and everything.

First Day of School

Shopping, Sleepovers and Silliness

La Princesa & El Dr doing groceries w/BB

Cousins playing in Ft. BB and of course pirates HAVE to have mustaches and beards!

Spending a glorious Memorial Day at beautiful Jungle Island thanks to Hispanicize.
.

PicaPica on his first audition, Rinquincaya and his Babushka.

Si, it's been a busy summer for BB.  A summer full of special moments, sacred milestones and precious memories;the "little" things in life that bring us smiles.  But looking back, these are the binding ties of families, and for me that makes them in reality, the true Biggies of our lives.

P.S.  Before anyone asks why there are so few pics of my granddaughter
please notice the two I do have are while she's in a stroller/cart.

It's very hard to take a picture of a lightning bolt.
