Hola, Hola, Hola Beautifuls!

Febrero, February. El mes del Amor, the month of love. 

Oh Beautifuls, this is year dos without Sweetie, but not without love. 

 Quee?? BB ya con novio? JU SO FONII!! 

No Beautifuls, without romance, pero nunca without amor. 

Not to say the physical isn’t necessary or painful when lacking. Babushka always has Sweetie’s side of the bed con cosas. Partly because she’s messy, but mainly because it fills up that empty espacio. The void is felt, but it can be filled, to only come in surprising spurts and sometimes wicked waves. Pero love has so many levels, so many ways to manifest, to enjoy and partake of.  

Sin duda, without a doubt is the love of familia. BB doesn’t know where she’d be without The Trio and The Grands. It’s nice to be needed and loved. Family, this is a given. Hope you are Blessed to feel the same.

La Vida, Life is to be Loved. Good, Bad, and todo in between. It’s why we’re here, the reason to Be. To Learn and to Love. This is our tarea. Si, we must love. Now, What you love, How you love, is your choice, your challenge. Hopefully you love life and cherish every moment, every chance of Being. Because you are worthy of the chances, the choices, the Love of Life, and the Love of YOU.

It's #MonsterJam For The Win!

Have you ever gone to an event and enjoyed it so much that you kept going back? So much fun that it became a family tradition? Bueno, Monster Jam is just that for Babushka's Bunch in Miami. For those that have gone to one, you know of what BB speaks, and to those who haven't, let's show you what you've been missing!

Babushka and her bunch have been to many Disney On Ice shows, matter of fact, BB and La Princesa saw the Frozen show in 2016. We loved it then, and now seis years later it's still a favorito for so many!! Pero it isn't the exact same show, because now we have Encanto and the mixture of cold and heat will warm the heart of all.  Let Babushka show you.

Next came the casita of ENCANTO and the wonderful story of how it came to be and all the wonderful characters living it. Mirabel introduced everyone (except for the one they don't talk about) and we all enjoyed the warmth of Colombia and the historia of the familia Madrigal.

Can you believe it's Agosto already?? Wow and Woah. 

Here in North Florida school is starting in a couple of days, y por supuesto BB's Summer Reading is Cubantime.  This is a young adult, preteen, tween book that La Princesa is going to enjoy once Babushka finishes. Luckily it has sisterhood, family, magic and tinges of tween drama that is sure to make it a fun and interesting read.

It's been awhile since BB has posted sobre Disney, pero their latest pelicula sounds BUENISIMO!

The two eldest Grands are in the midst of ::shudder:: PUBERTY, and too cool for most things, pero Babushka has a feeling this one even they will get into.

Ahora BB doesn't know about you Beautifuls, pero entre the movie description and the trailer, she's ready to watch this pelicula!  And when besides the fearless mom, a carro is named and featured, the similarities make this a must see for Babushka. Hola Hola Hola Beautifuls!

This post will be a BB Twofer. If you’ve been reading Babushka for awhile, you know that’s when you get dos topics in one post. A Two fer (for) uno. Last week the editor asked for submissions and BB asked what he’d like her post to be about. He never mandates, pero usually has some pretty good prompts y suggestions. For February he answered, “Valentine’s Day or Black HIstory Month”. Naturalmente, both very apropo and good temas, so pa’lante-pero, a la Babushka. Combining the two con corazon y cariño, a true story of love.

Miami, 15 years ago, Babushka’s eldest found her love. La CubanDominicanChinese Princess chose her Panamanian Prince and they proceeded to make a familia. 

Their first, a special child with an affinity to those smaller and younger than himself, especially babies. Then came la preciosa Princesa whose artistic attitude started a movement. The third is a little man who was already studying his surroundings on his first dia of vida. One could tell he had history, and would probably make history.

Familia is blood, the color red, the color of Valentine’s.

Si, they will make history, be a part of history. As we all are. Babushka chose to include this under Valentine’s/Black History month because of what she hopes is obvious. Through our examples, our passions, we influence our surroundings. So for those who first see the color, JU SO FONII!! May you see with your corazones the truth, that the outcome is a tale of love. Y al final Beautifuls,when all is said and done,  Amor is our history.

Mira que somos cabeziduros; humans are hard headed. And God has a wicked sense of humor. We go around doing what we want, focusing on our wants without realizing what we truly need or worse yet, what we already have. We may get reminders to look, episodes of life that make us stop for a moment, but those are fleeting and quickly pass. A child’s birth, reunions with an old friend, life moments that spark the love of life in us. Unfortunately we tend to focus on the mundane and insignificant, because as BB said before, we are hard headed. Fortunately we are given many nudges along the way to focus on what’s truly worthy; sometimes those nudges become slams.

My eldest, Cristyl’s Corazon has  stage 2 breast cancer. At 33 years of age she is facing her mortality. Now before you start feeling sorry for her, let Babushka show you the blessing of this.

Nothing makes you reevaluate your life attitude and actions quicker than the threat of losing it. For years she has refused to seek medical help for depression, for years she has been in a relationship that constricted, not daring to follow her true fullfillment of self. No more. Gracias to that golf ball size lump, she is happier than she’s been for years. She’s tending to her physical, spiritual and emotional self. With therapy and medicines she’s mentally in a much better place. With renewed and real faith she is content and feeling purpose, ready to conquer all. She’s following life loves and goals. Que te dije? Wicked sense of humor.

At this stage of life BB has become a fulltime madre again. Blessed Be. The first time around BB didn’t spend much time focusing on my first born because she was perfecta. Good grades, bella ballerina, popular, Babushka mistakenly thought she didn’t need a mama’s hovering and constant attention. The first time around she left home as soon as legally possible. This is our chance to makeup for missed moments. Not quite the same, but on many levels so much better. 

Life now is for living and following ones heart. Being older has helped her realize what is truly in her heart and who should be there. She has found a stronger love of family and her family in God. Her vision is to start a dance ministry, to combine two of her major loves. This is her first performance where she shared that dream.

Gracias to many she continues finding more ways to give and to live. One of these inspirations is from a book her therapist suggested , Living with Cancer by Barbara K. Linton. Gran casualidad that Barbara lives in Tallahassee? Again, Wicked Sense of Humor. Thanks to this book Cristyl found answers and strength. On the back cover, “Linton’s story promises that if you let Him, God will stay right beside you, loving you and willing to give you strength to walk triumphantly through whatever life may bring your way. It won’t be an easy journey, but if you let Him, God will prove that even with cancer...you can live!” Not only is BB’s Baby living, but she’s living for others too.,

For our children we are capaz to do anything. Even physical labor, in the sun. Babushka has signed up to walk on Cristyl's team and hopes y'all can join us. If you remember the last time BB wrote about the Feeling Buddies, My Eldest and her boys were living with Babushka, and La Princesa y SIL were coming up a few months later.  Bueno, it didn’t all go as we had hoped, porque la vida, JU SO FONII!!! Lamentablemente my daughter couldn’t quite cope with the pressures of moving, starting over, and suffered a mental lapse and breakdown.  As we wait for her return, my SIL and BB try to fill in, but the hardest part is actually finding time to sit for reading the hows and watching the video so we can put this toolkit to work. He’s in the midst of opening a new business and Babushka’s out of practica de raising little ones, and this being the end of the school year, in a new school, just the daily tasks are plenty for us. However, we do believe in this system, and know, now more than ever, the children need it. Honestamente, we all do. So, we are currently just familiarizing the children with the buddies and asking them to tell us before they go to bed which of the buddies they’re feeling like. If they grab the happy or calm, it’s a kiss, a hug, and a ”Buenas Noches, a dormir con los Angelitos”, pero if it’s any of the others we ask why and hopefully we can turn the sleeping frame of mind into a pleasant one.

This is the last week de escuela in our county, a much anticipated breather of time constraints and school responsibilities. BB will be watching that video closely and repeatedly, and during Grandma Daycare we will be listening to the CD. Babushka truly believes that if we all learn how to better express ourselves, how to self regulate and communicate our thoughts/feelings with others, so much can be accomplished and many problems avoided. Wish this had been around when The Trio were little, but thankfully it’s available now, and BB plans to take full advantage of it.
