For those of you who don’t know, BB has a new “adventure accomplice”.  Babushka’s eldest, Cristyl’s Corazon has moved Up North in The South with her mama and sharing quarters until her house is done.  You know the saying, “De Tal palo tal espina.” or in English, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the fruit.” ? Bueno beautifuls, in our case that’s very,very verdad.  We are last minute wanderers, always scouting events on Feibu and attending. Ahora, though we are mentally y physically ready, does that mean our choice of wardrobe is?  JU SO FONII!! Por supuesto that’s a no, but thankfully Dryel is ready to spruce up last minute outfits and help us look our best.

Mother's Day,Yin, and The Essence of Conferences #WeAllGrow

Hola,Hola,Hola Beautifuls!

May, que Maravilla! The month of flowers and the ultimate female power- motherhood.  If you recall in last month’s article, Babushka promised to share info on conferences attended, and she’ll do just that now. Quee?? These not be related? JU SO FONII!! But of course they are. Abren la mente for a little twofer BB calls the Essence of Conferences. May es de la Mujer.

In Chinese cosmology, the Yin is the feminine force, and combined with the masculine Yang make up all things. The Yang force places value on self, while the Yin force, on a deep level, is what places values on others before self.  Isn’t this the perfect definition of what motherhood is about? In this category BB also places the We All Grow Summit , which just by the title shows its emphasis.

A Latina influencer/blogger focused conference (though of course all are welcomed) held in California in March, this was the #WeAllGrow Summit 2017: Energy of Sisterhood; the third conference of this type and one Babushka had been longing to attend.

 Gracias to the generosity of Consumer Reports who hosted BB’s attendance, not only did I attend, but look forward to the next one! The feeling of amor, ease, y si, Sisterhood, was viable y todas vulnerable with the valor of asking true preguntas y sharing of proprietary points. Con decirte, que for the first time EVER Babushka literally let down her hair. Tal era the Yin in this evento. From the opening party, the signs/reminders of our worth and those of the Herman(a)dad, to being Warrior Princesses for ourselves and our loved ones; it was a touching and empowering three days that will forever be cherished.  Como dije en el ultimo article, we must invest in ourselves, and the #WeAllGrow summit on all levels was a lifelong memoria that will always bring BB felicidad and fuerza.

April Abounds Making @Conexion es

This post was originally written for Conexion, but seeing que todavia estoy con la lengua afuera from the past month and the current family situation, BB is sharing it with you here. Besides, Babushka work harder than she has to? JU SO FONII!!!

HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!

Como estan? Si, Babushka’s been away from writing here, but does that mean she hasn’t been working? JU SO FONII!! Por supuesto and but of course she’s been working, and working hard. Especially on herself. You’ve heard of the saying, “If mama ain’t happy, nobody’s happy”? Bueno, that’s especialmente true for BB.  And Babushka isn’t happy when life’s stagnant.

We’re now in Spring, traditionally the time for things to come out of hibernation and to renew, regresar a la vida. Beautifuls, we’re part of nature tambien and it’s time to awaken, expand y crecer.  Babushka is a firm believer of always learning, always doing something to broaden one's horizon. These past two months have been time spent with familia and forums, doing eso mismo.

For those who don’t believe being with family is a learning experience, look at it closer.  Being with los nietos has shown BB again the joy of discovery, lollipops and bubbles.  Each day to see and feel the total amor in their eyes reminds one of the belleza que es la vida and the reasons for La Lucha.  Being with The Trio and their spouses reminds one of continuance and the need for civility. No where is there needed more the art of diplomacy and feelings of compassion than with those you know since birth.  This is the training ground of how to treat all others.

And speaking of training, let’s not forget the betterment of ourselves. Volunteer in your “dream” job/field. Read books on topics of interest, seek out groups to broaden your horizon and circle of conocimientos. Attend charlas. Networking and conferences are always maravillosos to revive one’s spirit and purpose. Babushka also finds travel a wonderful way to grow and relight that sense of purpose. So when there’s a conference out of mi ciudad? ESOOO!!! A BB TWOFER!!!

By the time you read this, Babushka will have participated in two major conferences for Latinos. BB promises to go into detalles in future articles, but for now she wants you to pensar en algo.  What sueños will you awaken this spring? How will you relight your sense of purpose? Pa’lante en la Primavera Beautifuls!!

Conference Conga Line

HolaHolaHola My Beautifuls!  Today BB will address a topic all bloggers love and look forward to- CONFERENCES!!!  For many of us it's a highlight of our year.  Not only do we get information, get a chance to network with sponsors and other bloggers, we finally get to put a face to those we've friended over the blogasphere. ESO!!!

Babushka's First and Favorite is of course Hispanicize.  This year thanks to the American Latino Heritage Fund Roadtrip BB will be a panelist in this one of a kind, wondeful, buenisimo event.  It's so much, so good, that it's a 5 day smorgasbord!! Naturally it's not only for Latinos- everyone is welcome, but because it's organized by Latinos, in Miami, the smorgasbord mention is not in vain. LOTS of FOOD,FUN, FARANDULA in this one!!  Go ahead and check out the schedule- I know you'll want to go.

The second conference is from a group I'm very happy and proud to be associated with- the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Collective.  Ok si, BB is a mom/grandma and loves writing about her family, but let's be truthful here, my blog is mainly about life, the humor in it, and Babushka's sense of adventure so I'm very comfortable with these ladies.  By the way, you needn't be Latina or even female to join this very supportive collective.  Here's their Feibu page if you'd like to see their style.

 The Third Annual National Lifestyle Blogger Conference & Junket

From Blogger to Brand


Taking place in California from April 25 - April 27, this is a conference with caché. There is space for  Only 100 bloggers so personalized attention in a non harried atmosphere is a priority.  Truly a different take from the mass production and craziness of other conferences, this is one to learn while relaxing and reflecting at the same time.  The details and sign up are here. 

For many bloggers- or those who are thinking of becoming bloggers, the expenses of travel and lodging for conferences, or maybe the time involved is not doable. Well, Babushka has found a conference that is doable because it's ONLINE!!  Que? JU SO FONII!!! You know BB wouldn't miss that one!
