True, this year has more than flown, and when BB looks at The Trio, she still hasn't comprehended that they are the parents of The Grands. Pero think of it, the last ten years... Babushka feels it all.

BB definitely has felt the dancing, even had to comprar cases of Dr.Scholl's, but it was all a choice as to who would be Babushka's partner. Does your memoria say the same to you? Did you truly live the last ten years? Are you ready to totally live the next?  For her part, BB looks forward to the upcoming 10 years of bailes and hopes you'll be dancing right alongside her.

FRIDAY April 13, 2018 was a lucky day for Babushka. Contrary to superstition, it was a very good day for BB, would even say it was Blessed. It was the dia we gladly welcomed a new member to our familia.

Felicia Phoenix. Quee?? You don't name your carros? JU SO FONII!!! Bella Trusted Steads who share your lives daily? Who literally have your vida in their poder? Babushka has named them all and loved the part they've shared with us.  Esta Preciosa is no teeny bopper. She is a 2016 Honda Fit who only had 20 thousand miles,well taken care of, still intact and potente. If she was humana, BB would say the vibes of a 44 yr old business woman was Felicia. Certain of her place in la vida, with still a lot of vision and vim, lista for whatever is to come, and ready to do it with a style all her own.

Now why did Babushka pick the name Felicia Phoenix? Beautifuls, it's been almost seis years since Stan The Man retired. We had become a one car family with shared driving privileges. All was going well, only Sweetie truly needed to use the car daily for work, so it was ok, we made due.  Also ok was no expense of a second car. No monetary expense, pero the strain of being a one car family in other ways became clear, especially when my eldest and her children moved closer.  BB wanted to make up for lost time and opportunities, there were errands to run, and places to take them to. But as we bloggers and enterpreneaurs know, ours is not a steady income, so lenders weren't apt to lend and Babushka needed to raise her credit score.

Felizmente BB met Jacquelyn Calloway, aka The Credit RX. She was able to raise Babushka's credit score to the point that purchasing a carro was posible. Will forever be grateful for her help and guidance. Also, she's still offering help to you Beautifuls; you can read more about her services and receive a free gift here. 

Babushka has always felt that the cosas that happen to us are truly life lessons. Both the good and bad have their reasons. The questionable credit made BB realize what was worth spending on, and Consumer Reports helped Babushka learn about the options available. If you remember, as an Ambassador, BB was gifted a trip to their testing facilities, race track, and some excelente car editions of their magazine. #CRSponsored

Armed with knowledge and credit, Babushka started the process of buying. BB had fallen in love with the Honda Fit a couple of years ago when it was in purple. Unfortunately that color option is no longer around, but the reputation of the Fit was still good and our prior dealings with Proctor Honda lead us back to them. The precio was right, their treatment was right, so the estrellas were all aligned, and Felicia found a new casa!

Her name is Felicia. Felicia Phoenix. Because after six years BB has her carrito. Feliz, rising from the ashes and ready to run. Gracias @ProctorHonda #FeliciaPhoenixFit Giving Gratitude for today's extra Blessing. What was yours?

Mother's Day,Yin, and The Essence of Conferences #WeAllGrow

Hola,Hola,Hola Beautifuls!

May, que Maravilla! The month of flowers and the ultimate female power- motherhood.  If you recall in last month’s article, Babushka promised to share info on conferences attended, and she’ll do just that now. Quee?? These not be related? JU SO FONII!! But of course they are. Abren la mente for a little twofer BB calls the Essence of Conferences. May es de la Mujer.

In Chinese cosmology, the Yin is the feminine force, and combined with the masculine Yang make up all things. The Yang force places value on self, while the Yin force, on a deep level, is what places values on others before self.  Isn’t this the perfect definition of what motherhood is about? In this category BB also places the We All Grow Summit , which just by the title shows its emphasis.

A Latina influencer/blogger focused conference (though of course all are welcomed) held in California in March, this was the #WeAllGrow Summit 2017: Energy of Sisterhood; the third conference of this type and one Babushka had been longing to attend.

 Gracias to the generosity of Consumer Reports who hosted BB’s attendance, not only did I attend, but look forward to the next one! The feeling of amor, ease, y si, Sisterhood, was viable y todas vulnerable with the valor of asking true preguntas y sharing of proprietary points. Con decirte, que for the first time EVER Babushka literally let down her hair. Tal era the Yin in this evento. From the opening party, the signs/reminders of our worth and those of the Herman(a)dad, to being Warrior Princesses for ourselves and our loved ones; it was a touching and empowering three days that will forever be cherished.  Como dije en el ultimo article, we must invest in ourselves, and the #WeAllGrow summit on all levels was a lifelong memoria that will always bring BB felicidad and fuerza.

Mother’s Day is approaching, and besides thoughts of The Trio, BB recalls the actual day she became a Madre for the first time.  Birthing is no peace of bizcocho. It was a dia of surreal moments and surprises, but in the end worth every twist of events. It is a personal experience, y ultimately the choice is yours, pero BB just wants you to think about certain things, specifically the birth, before that day you become a mother, or before you give birth again.

Originally the C-Section, or Cesarean, was performed to save babies whose mothers died during childbirth.  Obviously, that is not the only reason the operation is chosen in today’s society. The reasons range from medical need, to cultural preference, and many beliefs in between. According to Consumer Reports, 1 in 3 births are cesareans, and almost half could have been done naturally.

“Alarmed by that trend, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM)—the nation’s two leading medical organizations that focus on childbirth—issued recommendations in 2014 aimed at safely reining in unnecessary cesareans.

“No one is saying that C-sections are never necessary, and no woman should feel guilty or somehow bad if they end up needing one,” says Elliott Main, M.D., the medical director of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative, a nonprofit organization that works to improve outcomes for mothers and babies in that state. “But mothers shouldn’t be coerced, directly or indirectly, into having a cesarean either, and making C-section rates public can give women the information they need when choosing where to deliver their babies,” he says.”

Thankfully, even though my ob/gyn scared Babushka by saying “It’s gonna be a big one!”, when asked if a Cesarean should be performed he said, “No mija, alli cabe un camion.” ( No dear, you can fit a truck in there.)  Loved my doctor, Crazy Cubano with a heart of gold, whose jokes weren’t always funny, but his demeanor was always darling.  My first born was almost a 12 pounder, and BB was sure Dr. Tudela was there for all three births.

When BB was bb, she remembers her dad going to visit relatives in the hospital, but he wouldn't touch anything, stood standing, and didn't even drink from the water fountains. "There are germs all over the place here, ni el agua es safe." Turns out el viejo wasn't far from the truth.

Now you know BB's all about the positive, pero it's easier to be positivo if you're in good health, and the very place we go to get mejor might be the very place that gets us peor.  Hospitales should be the one place we're safe from the new "super bugs"; lamentablemente they are the perfect breeding place for them.  Every year an estimated 648,000 personas in the US develop infecciones during a hospital stay and according to the CDC- Center for Disease Control and prevention, about 75,000 end in death. 

Does this mean we shouldn't go to hospitals??  JU SO FONII!!! Of course we need hospitales, but we need to go in with los ojos abiertos and a plan to betterment not bitterment. So, before you get all paranoid and freakiada, there are steps you can do to protect yourself and loved ones- even if you just go pa' visita.  The above graphic gives you excellent suggestions, and the Tweety Chat hosted by Elianne Ramos aka @ERGeekGoddess va estar super informative about these new strains of bacterias.
