Sunday Smiles #Anime #Animation #COVID19 #JUSOFONII #ComicRelief 7.26.2020

HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!
End of Julio and still no hay final to this Corona Catastrophe.
This is dedicated to The Grands, in particular the dos mas viejo, El Dr. and PicaPica.
Pandemic Panic is tolerable if we learn to say JU SO FONII to current conditions and remember to find the humor in cosas. For BB's parte, this week we see how even the muñequitos are marchando with the worldwide waltz.

At first BB didn't get this one...
but then got such ganas to go on a trip!!

Sadly, so true!

Even sadder. At least they're trying to educate the youngsters...

Ahora, let's go to something more BB's style-

Jasmine es Bella no Boba.

Washing Manos, definitivamente the Bare Necessities.
Y si, BB had to.  😉

And speaking of bears...

As for Casa BB...
Babushka lives on Level 2, aunque the other niveles do pop up sometimes.

And you Beautifuls?? What Level are you living?
Whichever it is, know there is ALWAYS
something to smile about.

#SMCSFBlog Challenge- And I'm doing this because???

HolaHolaHola My Beautifuls!!!

I know Babushka hinted at this before, but the JU SO FONII is on the border of becoming JU SO CRAZII!!!

BB's half way through the #SMCSFBlog Challenge and needs to be reminded why I ever said si.

Vamos a ver, let's see.

1. The Social Media Club of South Florida is a nice group of people. They truly believe in the power of              social media and are generous with their knowledge. Besides, they're a bunch of locos who are fun and          welcomed esta vieja with open arms.

2.  Babushka likes challenges.  Remember, Sweetie is hubby#3.

3.  There are so many adventures and events that BB hasn't written about yet.  Como:

and of course time in Little Havana

and time w/my boys.

and that was just Septiembre!!!

Hmmm...
maybe 30 days of straight blogging won't be enough!

; )

Proud Portrait of a Padre- My Son. Who'd of Thunk It??

How do you tell the greatness of a man?

By how proud and surprised his mother is.

Quee??

If you've lived through your son's Puberty  ::shudder::  you'll agree w/Babushka 100%!!

First, you have this little handful

Who quickly turns into a bigger handful.

Then in a blink of a heartbeat has his own little handfuls.

Who are quickly turning into bigger handfuls.

"Small boys become big men through the influence of big men who care about small boys."~Anon

Bueno mijo lindo, don't know where you got your influence from, but I know your sons will be Big Men.

Gracias for sharing your love and helping raise sons whose portraits you too will share with pride.

Happy Father's Day

And to all of you Beautifuls, may today be a day of happy memories.

P.S.  To clarify the title- JU SO FONII !!!
It's not that I ever doubted my son's parenting capabilities,
it's the fact that he's actually old enough to do it that boogles BB.

SuperWhy Live Tour- A Review

Took my grandsons Rinquincaya & PicaPica to see the SuperWhyLive show yesterday and all I can say is- glad my DIL was w/me 'cause the boys were so excited you'd have thought it was Christmas!

PicaPica and Rinquincaya-  SuperWhy Masks

Naturally BB has been to children's live action shows before, remember my trio , but it's been awhile.  The special effects are so much better and lifelike that you can't help but be impressed and swept into the action.

From 2 D to 3 D

BB getting into the story and being totally impressed.

Rinquincaya roaring along with the crowd.

The live show incorporated the plot of the SuperWhy tv show along with fantastic and colorful musical numbers, giving each character a chance to shine and explain who they are and what their powers were.

It got so good BOTH boys had to sit on BB's lap!

JU SO FONII!!!

Ok, si, it's wider and taller - thanks to Babushka's Popa bag- nothing else.

  ; )

My boys were entranced, entertained and totally into it.

PicaPica totally groovin' the Rock Star number.

And speaking about rockin'- the finale was in the words of my boys-

AWESOME!!!!

So...was this entertaining enough for a 4.5 and almost 6 year old ever moving boys?
Let's put it this way, PicaPica asked, "Babushka, can we come again tomorrow?"

P.S.  BB was compensated w/tickets to the SuperWhyLive Tour show, but all opinions are mine, Rinquincaya and PicaPica's.

P.P.S.  Here's the original post on the SuperWhyLive Tour in case you want to know more about it and when it's scheduled to be in your little corner of the universe.

My Son, Madre's Day & The Miami Tunnel

5:30 a.m. my son pulls into the driveway, hands me a hard hat and says,
"Happy Mother's Day Ma."

Ok, si, we never were the typical familia.

BB raised her trio to believe in themselves and in what they were doing, to love what they were doing- or at the very least, to find something to love in what they were doing.  In all instances do things with heart, from the heart, and always- with gusto & passion!

Another lesson I tried to stress was the importance of homemade gifts.  Que? Does that mean BB would turn down cash or a Starbucks GC?  JU SO FONII!!!  What better complement to a homemade card than having one of those tucked inside?  Seriously though, and once again, presents with heart, from the heart.

And so my son, knowing that BB loves twofers (that's two things for the price of one) was going to give me a peek at what he was doing, a tour of his latest job, the Port of Miami Tunnel, and the greatest homemade gift a child can give to their mother- time together.

Naturally Babushka was thrilled when Marine MAC, that's one of the nicknames I have for my son, called to inform me that although he had to work on Madre's Day, he wanted to spend some time together and would pick me up. He wanted to give me a behind the scenes look of the news making tunnel. Oh Joy!  At 5:30 a.m.  Oh. Joy.

At the port the tour begins. With camera and fan in hand, hard hat in place and visitor tag on lapel, BB tries to keep up.  Being my son, and a military man, my son knows only two ways to speak.  Either he's detailed and extensive, or short and to the point.  Extremes Are Excellent. Thankfully he started off detailed, but once Mr. Sun started to heat the air and he saw BB's fan a fury MAC knew it was time to switch to monosyllables, just naming the parts of the equipment.  The following pictures were not the only pictures taken during the tour, but being 5:30 a.m.,a mom, and non mechanically inclined, these are the photos most important to Babushka.

MM and BB at the beginning of the tour

What a mother likes to think about...

Bueno, at least they'll have some fresh air...

At the end of the tour, BB draggin' and a fannin'
waaayyy behind MM

Escorting me to the end of the tunnel, my son said he loved me- with heart, from the heart.

I couldn't have asked for a better Madre's Day.

P.S. When BB started the blog MM didn't want  his pic showing, for this post he said yes.  Another gift from my boy.  Handsome devil isn't he?

P.P.S.  On the way to the port my son explained that due to traffic and the heat being heavier later in the day he decided the beginning of his shift would be the best time for the tour.  Oh he knows me too well, como si lo hubiera parido.  ; )

P.P.P.S. Later in the evening, MM's sons, my grandsons Rinquincaya and PicaPica, and my DIL came by with dinner for me and La Tata.  Oh si, one of my best Mother's Day ever.

OJO There may affiliate Links in this post, 'cause BB's gotta have her cafe.

Rinquincaya y PicaPica

Rinquincaya y PicaPica,  this is the nickname I gave my grandsons- my son's boys.  You remember my son right?  The 25 year old former marine who was partly (ok, mostly) the reason for my puberty shell-shock.     ::shudder::

Well, karma is delightful!  Guess the Universe figured he gave me a handful, so he was sent 2 handfuls!  Remember- you always get back double of what you give - so Cuidado!!!

Rinquincaya y PicaPica is an old Cuban phrase.  The Anglo equivalent?  Hmmm.... oh yes.   The Anglo equivalent would be-  Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.  On steroids.  Seriously.  Si, I know, many of you out there are saying, JU SO FONII !!! and I am, but I'm serious too.

Let me translate a little further.  Rinquincaya to me is a human tornado or hurricane- knowing the path they want to take and just plowing to their destination.  PicaPica is the same, but to another degree.  Their destination is reached through cunning and persistance- like a mosquito.  Actually, that's a pretty good description considering "pica, pica" means itch, itch.

The eldest of the two  was originally Rinquincaya- until his brother arrived.  His little brother , which by the way has the same name as the little boy in The Omen, (parental premonition?) made it clear pretty quickly who the plow machine was, so the eldest was renamed PicaPica.  Now let me illustrate.

I was visited by my son's family last Thanksgiving.  The eldest (who had just turned 4 and adored his Babushka) came running into my room, calling my name with joy in his voice.  He stopped as soon as he saw the stranger.  Not only was it a stranger, it was a male stranger, watching TV from BB's bed!  Quickly sizing up the situation, PicaPica decides to climb over this stranger to hug his grandma, making sure to step on the intruder's manhood along the way- literally.  Have you ever seen a 6'4" man be smaller than a 4 year old?

Introductions were made with the responses being a "hello" in a child's "whatever" tone and a grownup, almost inaudible, low  grunt when in comes  the two year old pushing the stranger to get to his destination.   "Grandma- where's my lollipop?"

Hurricane and Mosquito, Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, Rinquincaya y PicaPica.

And what ever became of the stranger?  The stranger, my poor Sweetie, who had been ignored, shoved and almost castrated by these two  grew to love the boys.

My  boys.  Rinquincaya y PicaPica- brains and brawn, always energized, always intense.  Definitely two  handfuls and tiring.

But I wouldn't want them any other way.
